Tyga has said that he will always 'love' Kylie Jenner but 'things just didn't work out'.

Asked whether their eight-year age gap had anything to do with the split, the coy 26-year-old rapper failed to give an answer to TMZ on Friday when he finally broke his silence on the split.

Most recently, it's been reported that Kylie, 18, could no longer trust the rapper though he now says they were just too focused on their individual lives at this time.

He said: 'We're both just focused on our individual lives right now and sometimes things don't work out but I love her.'

The musician was then asked how her felt about the news that Kylie's older half brother Rob Kardashian is expecting a child with the mother of his son, King Cairo.

'People grow and evolve,' he said. 'So everybody should have the opportunity to have love and live they life.'

In the video interview, Tyga refused to answer whether the age difference between himself and Kylie played a part in the split and wouldn't say whether he thought Rob was a good step-father.

Kylie and Tyga reportedly split during a bitter feud leading up to the Met Gala last week and as far as a reason why, it's been claimed that the reality star had finally reached her boiling point after months of 'fighting a ton over stupid petty bulls***' with the rapper, a source reported to People.

The 26-year-old Rack City hit-maker 'made her feel insecure about their relationship' and she's 'caught him lying and talking to other girls behind her back before.'
