George Tourism recently attended the third annual World Travel Market Africa exhibition which is hosted by City of Cape Town and is an event that puts the world’s spotlight on Africa promoting the continent to the world. Acting Tourism Manager, Claudine Carelse and Tourism Official, Graham De Swardt represented George Tourism at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC) from 06 – 08 April 2016.

This trade show which has shown phenomenal success since it’s inception three years ago, is attended by inbound and outbound exhibitors from all over the world. George Tourism participated for the second year together with Eden Municipality, Knysna, Plettenberg Bay, Hessequa, Oudtshoorn, Gansbaai, the Cape Karoo area, Hermanus and the West Coast under the umbrella of WESGRO and Eden District Municipality.

Companies and product owners attending the exhibition are serious about meeting the right people, conducting productive meetings and getting a return on their investment. In addition, WTM provides a holistic travel and tourism show that benefits travel professionals from a wide spectrum.

Travel professionals can choose from over 600 exhibiting companies to do business with, interact with likeminded individuals from over 70+ countries from around the globe, including other parts of Africa, attend debates and seminars and listen to topical and beneficial talks from a vast array of speakers covering to-the-point topics that have a direct impact on the business of travel.

“George Tourism as an exhibitor was able to meet with hosted buyers on pre-set compulsory appointments, have access to the Buyers Club members and other visiting travel professionals.  Essentially we were able to rub shoulders with the crème de la crème of the travel industry,” said Acting Tourism Manager Claudine Carelse.  “It was an amazing opportunity for us in terms of developing the brand of George to be able to attend the speed networking sessions and various social engagements and events as well as participate in the conference and seminar sessions.”
