GO GEORGE VISITS ROSEMOORE HOME FOR THE AGED

Jul 5 '16 | By La Afrique Media | Views: 391 | Comments: 0

On the edges of their chairs, residents of the Rosemoor Home for the Aged were listening to the lively presentation by Simphiwe Schaap, GO GEORGE Community Liaison Officer, explaining the basics and benefits of using the bus service during a visit last Friday. The residents have huge appreciation for the accessibility of the buses to people with special needs, like the blind, the deaf, and those in wheelchairs or using mobility devices. This home was selected as one of the trial groups to test the accessibility features on the new minibuses in 2014.

What could be more welcome than a snuggly knee blanket in the middle of an icy cold winter? All residents at the Rosemoor Home for the Aged received a blanket with the compliments of GO GEORGE during a visit from the bus service last week. Here Simphiwe Schaap, GO GEORGE Community Liaison Officer, is helping Mona Freeks to open hers.

GO GEORGE paid a visit to the residents of the Rosemoor Home for the Aged last week and presented every resident with a snuggly knee blanket.  Trying out their new blankets for warmth and comfort are, in front, from the left, Mona Freeks (she says she’s somewhere in her 80s), Yvonne Santana (78), Beauty Sampo (76) and Pollie Baartman (he’s not sure of his age, but says he is old enough). At the back are, from left, Simphiwe Schaap, GO GEORGE Community Liaison Officer, and the Centre Manager of the home, Isaac Williams.
