‘Yizo Yizo’ music producer Kyllex Faku is dead!

Well-known South African music composer and producer Kyllex Faku has died.

Well-known South African music composer and producer Kyllex Faku has died.

Not much detail has been revealed about the death of Faku, who is best known for producing soundtracks for SABC drama series ‘Yizo Yizo’.

Confirming the news on social media, a family member by the name of Bongane Fezile Faku wrote: “This for my uncle climbing Heaven stairwell, I bid you farewell…  RIP Uncle Kyllex.”

Fans and those who worked closely with him in the music industry paid tribute to Faku and have been sending condolence messages.

Faku also played an important part in building the careers of many musicians, including Ismael, Iyaya and the late Lebo Mathosa.

“This is the guy – that helped me start in the music and media business – this is the guy that first worked with Lebo Mathosa from Boom Shaka and Queen/Iyaya from AbaShante – this is the guy that brought us the first R&B hit with Ismael from Jozi called ‘LET ME-BE THE ONE’ this is the guy that produced for Lance at Ghetto Ruff and this is the guy that produced the YizoYizo sound track – This is Jemza /Kyllex….May his soul rest in power,” Thulani Mbatha wrote on Facebook.
